When few would bother to try

Conventional thinking: Fishing in the middle of the day...in the middle of summer...in oppressive heat...in skinny water. Nah!

If we're honest, it's not a scenario that appeals to many died-in-the-wool Australian freshwater anglers. But, sometimes you have to go with what you've got. Here's a guest appearance by The Wilderlifer, Dylan Smith. He hunted and fished gorge country on a day trip to check out how the Murray cod had fared during the worst drought in living memory, when some of the holes that normally hold fish went bone dry.

He also shot a feral goat for the table with his traditional bow. If hunting doesn't appeal to you, skip the video. On the other hand, if you like what you see, you can find Dylan's channel on YouTube at The Wilderlifer.

The lure star of this show is the Predatek Sandviper. A barramundi lure? Yes. But also a good choice for Murray cod.
